It's being reported !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , that Alexander Rossi is pursuing opportunities on this side of the pond ('Merica) for 2015. I for one find that disheartening. Rossi is/was our only true hope of the first American F1 star since Michael Andretti (yes, I know that fast named kid won a contest) and seemed to have the career luck necessary to pull it off.

As he was coming through the ranks, he beat people such as Porsche Factory Driver (Michael Christensen) and Sauber F1 Driver (Esteban Gutierrez) on his way to securing an exclusive test with the BMW Sauber F1 Team. Luckily for him, when the team folded at the end of the season they honored his prize and gave him the test.
Through it all, he was able to secure the necessary backing to continue to race and progress through the myriad of junior formula in Europe. This is quite a feat and if you have been following fellow American Conor Daly you know that this is an extremely difficult task even with a former F1 driver as a father.
Caterham seemed to be that string of luck a young driver needed to be given top equipment in GP2 or World Series by Renault 3.5 to show the skills necessary for a drive in Formula 1.
But it was not to be. Yes, I will love it if Rossi finds a home in the top open-wheel series that North America has to offer. But, I'll hate it for him that he got so far and was not able to show what he can do in an F1 car.

Racer mag had a story on him late last night. That's too bad. Definitely seemed like he was America's best hope. Hopefully having Haas Racing in the mix can fast track an American drive but that's probably wishful thinking.

Haas has already said he won't fast track an American unless they are ready. With that being said Rossi was the closest to ready as we had, but now the wait for an American World Champion has been pushed back another 4-5 years as the only one in the system that would be feasible is Eddie Cheever III who is more Italian than American it seems.

Perhaps Rossi might find himself aligned with Haas after a couple years in IndyCar.

I would hope so, but it seems that once you come to IndyCar, your F1 hopes are done. See:
